welcome to our library!

The purpose of the church library is to provide a wide variety of materials for use by members of the congregation to help in nurturing personal growth in faith and understanding of the Christian life.

KEY VERSE: II Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to  be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Media Center Usage Policy:

1.    Two items may be checked out at one time by a First Baptist Church Member.
2.    Items can be checked out during posted operational hours.
3.    A child under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
4.    Return date will always be on Sunday, 2 weeks from the check-out date.
When checking out on Wednesday, the user will have 2 1/2 weeks for usage.
Exception may be allowed for devotional books.
5.    Items may be returned at any time by placing in the return box.
6.    No late fee will be charged. Responsibility for the physical condition of items
as well as return of items on time, will be expected. If an item is not returned
in a month, the user needs to respond with replacement value.

Media Center Selection Policy Guidelines:

1.    All materials are subject to approval by the FBC Media Director. A subject
may be appropriate in itself, but the treatment of the subject in an item may
be better for a public library rather than the Church Media Center.
2.    Content should be accurate in facts, scripture interpretation and doctrine,
       as well as up-to-date.
3.    Titles related to religious groups and their beliefs should not be objective
       in content.
4.    Titles should be constructive in influence, morally sound scripturally and
free from unchristian attitudes and actions. Illustrations should follow the
       same guidelines.
5.    Titles should be of good literary and technical quality, reflection sound
educational methods, as well as correct spelling and grammar.
6.    Gifts to the Media Center are encouraged, with money preferred. The giver
and the director may determine the type, subject, and/or specific title, with
the item being purchased through the Media Library.
7.    A title never circulated or one not circulated in many years and not providing
important nor historical content may need to be removed. Items in poor
condition, especially audio/audiovisuals, may need to be deleted. Memorials
will be carefully evaluated before deletion.

Library Hours:

30 minutes before each service. If needed, will be open after services also.
