I had the great opportunity this month to read some of my co-worker's monthly prayer letters. Many of them talked about February being the month where we think about love. I was inspired by their letters to think about all the ways that I'm loved and to consider the ways that my work here at City Team gives me the opportunity to show others love.

   I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day, nor have I ever been. The one big thing that I thought V-day had going for it was the candy. I still like the candy...except for the conversation hearts. They are way too chalky! But I am feeling very blessed these days as I see all the people who have been showing me true love. You get to see real greatness in people when you become pregnant. People are constantly watching out for my best interest, even if I'm too distracted to think about that. It's wonderful, and sometimes it actually brings me to tears, probably because I'm pregnant! Another thing I've realized, over and over again, is how blessed I am by my husband, Steve. He has been there anytime I was too tired to find food for myself or to carry anything and everything and oh so many other things. It has constantly caused me to reflect on how hard it would be if I didn't have his love and support.   

  Pregnancy has also caused me to reflect on God and His love. God treats us all like I've been treated since I found out I was having a baby. He is constantly there, watching for our best interest, guiding us, protecting us and loving us. It is truly amazing! With all the times I your find myself too busy to pray or spend time with God, He's still there loving me unconditionally.

   Better still, at City Team and even in my everyday personal life, I have the opportunity to share His love with people who are feeling alone, or tired or just forgotten. As you pray for me this month, would you pray that I'll be reminded to show as much love as I'm being shown? Also, would you pray for the women and children of City Team, that they would find the all consuming joy that lies in understanding God's love? Especially, would you join me in praying for the single moms we work with who don't have a supportive husband / boyfriend to help them when it get's hard?

 

   Boy! We're having a boy. We are so excited to find out. I have a few concerns, especially having no brothers or real experience in taking care of little boys. But, that's why I have Steve. Our little boy will be in good hands. Would you continue to pray for me, Steve and the baby as we prepare for our lives together? Please pray that we'll all be healthy and that we won't fall into the temptation of getting stressed out! Also, we are trying to work through the details of childcare. We have a great option, with only a few drawbacks, but we are prayerfully making that decision as it will have a huge impact on all of us. Would you pray as we make our plans? Thank you for your prayers and support and for being a part of the reason that I feel so LOVED!
